Ms. Bartlett's Blurb
It is so unbelievable to think that it is May! It feels like just yesterday I was writing the August Newsletter and getting us ready to take on the school year!
Now, as we are wrapping up the 2020-2021 school year, I want us all to look back and remember all of the positive memories. As this truly is a year we will all never forget!
I want to personally thank all of the families and community again for their continued flexibility, understanding, and support through it all. This was not the most ideal year as some may say to start as the new principal but you have welcomed me with open arms and for that I am beyond grateful.
We are excited to see what next year brings as we are committed to continued improvement and ensuring nothing but the best for our RV students, families, and community!!
Ms. Samantha Bartlett
Principal
Meet the Team
Mrs. Schroder, Middle School Math Teacher
Mrs. Schroder has been teaching math for 8 years now and loves it. This year has had its challenges but she is extremely proud of the growth and learning the distance kiddos have done. In her spare time, she loves spoiling her grandson.
Mrs. Youngker, Middle School Science Teacher
I am an alumni of Rainbow Valley Elementary School as I was a student here k-8. I now teach 7th and 8th grade science. I've always had a passion for education and I strongly believe that every single person should learn something new every single day! I am honored to be in a position where I not only get to teach science, but also the importance of knowledge. In my spare time, I love exploring national parks with my husband as well as spending time with my family and dogs.
Mr. Sowers, Middle School Social Studies Teacher
Mr. Sowers has worked at RV for 17 years and is on more promotion photos than anyone else. A record that may stand for all time.
Mrs. Tyche, Middle School Science Teacher
This is my 10th year teaching, 5th year with Liberty School District but my first with Rainbow Valley. I have loved getting to know the RVS students. They are amazing!
Ms. Johnson, Middle School ELA/Social Studies Teacher S .
It's amazing to me that this is my 19th year at Rainbow Valley, and my 24th year teaching! I've taught everything from 3rd to 8th grade, and I've loved most all of it! I have two sons, both of whom attended RV from Kinder through 8th grade. Zack (23) is now a production engineer at a Hitachi plant in Lexington, KY, and Kai (14) is a freshman at Youngker High School. We have adopted two dogs during the last year. Midnight is an 8 year old black/white Chihuahua and Loki is a 2 year old black/white Chiweenie. They have brought so much fun into our home during the pandemic! I love to read, cook, bake, design furniture, build things... anything creative, really. I definitely look forward to being back on campus next year!
Ms. Garvey, Middle School Teacher
This is my 5th year at Rainbow Valley, and it’s been the biggest adventure in my educational journey so far. I love being a Coyote and leading 7th and 8th graders. I have two dogs and love to travel as often as possible. Being outdoors and learning new things encompasses who I am as a person. I’m excited to see what 2021-2022 brings!
Ms. Mclain, Middle School Math Teacher
I have been teaching JH Math since 1999 and loved learning from the experiences. This past year has been my most challenging journey yet but also the most fulfilling in all these years as I learned how to teach online! The year has been a rollercoaster ride in my joys and stresses meeting those challenges but I appreciated the adventure and my willingness to succeed. Now that I have 3 weeks until I retire, I look forward to new adventures volunteering with different organizations to make our world a better place, and spending more time with my 4 grandchildren. I have a Belgian Malinois Akita mix that I enjoy training daily - my best furry friend. So Neekos will be happy to have more of my time as well. Life is a journey, and I am thrilled to start the next chapter in my life.
